MOSS Vale's under-14 women recently contested its first Barrengarry Conference matches for the year.
The representative games were held at Moss Vale Basketball Stadium.
Moss Vale played three games for one win, one loss and a draw.
Versus Milton
MOSS Vale had a nervous start to the season against Milton as the girls adapted to playing with each other on the court.
A lot of shots were taken through the game.
Unfortunately, Moss Vale could not get the ball through the hoop enough to win.
Abbey Johnson and Natasha Mrsnik were strong in the forwards, with great defence by Letitia Glenn and Charlotte Pepping.
Newcomers Alex Bull and Grace Mullie-Locke started to get into the game by the second half, but Milton won 20-10.
Letitia Glenn and Natasha Mrsnik were named Moss Vale's best and fairest.
Versus Shoalhaven
THIS was a much-better structural game and the Moss Vale girls bonded well on the court.
Grace Mullie-Locke came out firing, proving that she is a representative player.
Good teamwork and passing won the game.
Alex Bull found her confidence and her place on the court.
Jess Gibson put the ball in the basket and Sara Feely controlled the ball up the court.
Once again, Letitia and Charlotte Pepping were fantastic in defence, and Georgia Shakeshaft got some good rebounds.
Moss Vale won 32-23 and Mullie-Locke and Pepping were named the best and fairest.
Versus Moss Vale under-16s
IT was decided to split the teams to make this contest more even.
This also gave the under-16s a bit more competition.
It was a fast running game, with the under-14s having to play harder and stronger to keep up with the older girls.
Georgie Shakeshaft drove the ball to the basket.
Abbey Johnson was also strong in her position.
Alex Bull had her best game and her confidence is growing.
Bull, Johnson and Shakeshaft were named best and fairest as the teams played out a draw.
