The 'fight or flight' response is the natural reaction that helps people deal with potentially dangerous situations.
However for some people, anxiety prevents them from living their life in the way that they would desire.
Anxiety has similar physical and emotional symptoms to fear.
Fear is always based on something, however with anxiety disorders a person feels the fear, but cannot name the reason for feeling anxious.
During a panic attack the fear experienced can be very intense.
Anxiety can be the result of a number of factors including environmental, biological, genetic or some personality types.
Now there is an opportunity to learn about anxiety disorders in the Southern Highlands.
The Mental Health Association NSW and Charles Sturt University in conjunction with the Moss Vale Anxiety Support Group and the Wingecarribee Health Association for Men Inc. (WHAM) are presenting a Free Public Health Forum.

Numbers are limited. RSVP by March 23 to Julie on (02) 9339 6003 or jleitch@mentalhealth.asn. au (tea and coffee provided).
