CommBank Flix in the Stix showcased live music by ARIA winning artists My Friend the Chocolate Cake, and comedy from ARIA award winning threesome Tripod, which had the audience in stitches.
When the sun went down and the live shows came to an end, the big screen came up and several award winning films were shown, curated by award-winning actress Deborah Mailman.
Deborah was the first Aboriginal actress to win the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and is known for her roles in successful Australian drama series The Secret Life of Us and Offspring. Deborah said she was proud to be a part of Australian drama.
"I'm so proud of Australian drama and the many voices that create a vibrant tapestry of who we are," she said.
Flix in the Stix co-founder and tour director Simon Rollin said he loved bringing Flix to the Southern Highlands.
"We've always enjoyed strong support and the venue is unique in our mix of venues across the tour."
"Bong Bong Racecourse is synonymous with good times and our event is fundamentally based on that premise"
The audience enjoyed pizza made by Red Belly Pizza, hot drinks from Coffee Culture and Commonwealth bank employees were on hand to provide free popcorn, free blow up back rests and picnic blankets.
