ROBERTSON/BURRAWANG'S second grade side crushed its opponent at Welby Oval on Saturday.
Robertson/Burrawang completely dominated play on day one of its two-day clash with Hill Top.
Hill Top batted first and was rolled for just 78 runs.
Robertson/Burrawang captain Matt Cupitt led the charge with 4/26, while Dave Watts and Mark Bisby took two wickets each.
In reply, Robertson/Burrawang put its foot down to smash the Hill Top bowling attack around the field.
Robertson/Burrawang hit 4/160 off just 23 overs before Cupitt decided to declare.
Cupitt top scored with 88 runs and Chad Stephenson (45) also impressed with the willow in hand.
Trailing by 82 runs, Hill Top headed to the crease for its second innings.
Hill Top was reduced to 3/40 before stumps were drawn on Saturday.
Cupitt continued his fine game with two wickets and Bisby collected one. Robertson/Burrawang will look to secure an outright victory when play resumes this Saturday.
Cupitt said he was pleased with his team's display.
"It was a really good effort leading into the finals," he said.
"We will look to keep our good form going and really put our foot down."
Robertson/Burrawang can confirm second place on the ladder with an outright win.
The result would also assure Robertson/Burrawang has a double chance in the finals series.
Cupitt said he was particularly pleased with his side's bowling performance on Saturday.
"Our bowling and fielding allowed us to put our foot down with the bat," he said.
"We had a little hiccup against Mittagong a few weeks back, but we have been showing pleasing form."
