Their next show is the musical Oklahoma and will be directed by seasoned actor and director Barbara Handley. Despite retiring from directing a few years ago, the attraction of the performing arts just keeps pulling Ms Handley back. Ms Handley has extensive history in the performing arts, having directed the popular Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and last year's Chicago.
The performing arts stalwart has long enjoyed the show Oklahoma and was thrilled the HTG offered her the opportunity to bring it to the Highlands.
Oklahoma is a big show with lots of opportunities for performers.
There are roles for seven men and five women between the ages of 18 and 70, plus roles in the chorus for singers.
There are opportunities for dancers from 15 years onwards because of the complicated choreography.
Children between the ages of seven and 14 are also needed for the show.
The HTG encourages those interested with or without experience, to come along to the information night on March 9 at 7.30pm at the Mittagong Playhouse on the corner of the Old Hume Highway and Bowral Road, Mittagong. Auditions will be held at THSPA on 73 Kirkham Road Bowral on the following Sunday, March 15 from 10am.
All newcomers to the group are welcome. If you have any questions about the show or auditions, contact Barbara Handley on 0419 136 216.
