At about 10:45pm police were patrolling Renwick Estate when a Commodore accelerated harshly as it reversed out of a driveway.
It caused the vehicles rear wheels to screech loudly and lose traction with the bitumen roadway.
Police said the vehicle then approached an intersection and again harshly accelerated which caused the rear tyres to lose traction and the vehicle to continue through the intersection in a sideways motion.
The vehicle then crossed onto the incorrect side of the road for about eight metres before moving to the correct side of the road and continuing at high speed.
Police pulled the driver over and he was subjected to a road side breath test which provided a positive result. The driver was arrested and taken to Bowral Police Station where he was charged with a number of traffic related offences including drive with mid range PCA.
