THE Moss Vale Dragons first grade team is preparing for its first challenge of 2015.
The Dragons will face 2014 premier Picton on February 27 in the Group 6 pre-season tournament at Community Oval, Moss Vale.
It will be a stern test for Moss Vale, which is in the middle of rebuild according to first grade coach Robbie Payne.
Payne said all of Moss Vale's senior teams - the firsts, reserves and under-18s - were in a rebuilding stage.
Payne said the Dragons aimed to put a fight in each competition.
"Our senior teams need to compete in this rebuilding stage," he said.
"We will compete this year and be competitive."
However, Payne said it was tough for the Dragons to face Picton in its first contest.
"That's a hard brush for us," he said.
"But it will be a good test to see where we're at.
"The pre-season tournament will be 20-minute halves, so it will be fast and short."
