The former Australian Test captain died in Bowral on Sunday, November 16 and today, Friday, November 28, he was remembered by his loved ones at the celebration of his life.
Organised by Ian's wife Ros and family, together with the Bradman Foundation, the memorial was led by long-time friend of Ian, Alan Jones.
Described by everyone he knew as a gentleman who was kind, caring and loving, it was clear that Ian had left a mark on all that had the honour of meeting him.
Ian played 11 Test matches for Australia, five as captain. He played 144 first class matches for NSW before he retired as a 26-year-old to concentrate on his career in the pharmaceutical industry.
Condolence books for the family of talented young cricketer Phillip Hughes are also set up on the cricket pitch for people to sign.
