The opening day of action at Exeter Oval on Saturday produced intriguing results.
In hot conditions, competition leader Mittagong batted first and compiled a total of 254.
Bundanoon skipper Shane Martin was the pick of the bowlers with 3/42, while Shane Pritchard (1/28) provided excellent support.
Martin said his team bowled well, but struggled in the field.
"It wasn't our best fielding, we dropped seven catches," he said.
The home side had to face 25 overs before stumps were called, finishing on 4/117.
Bundanoon's top performer was Mitch Granger, who scored 50.
Heading into play tomorrow, Bundanoon trails by 137 runs with six wickets in hand.
Martin said Bundanoon remained "in the hunt" for victory against its strong opponent.
"If we bat really well, we should get away with it, but luck has to go our way," he said.
Mittagong sits at the top of the second grade ladder with five successive wins .
Bundanoon has recorded three wins to sit in third spot.
