TRADTRI galloped ahead to win the 2014 Bong Bong Cup on Friday.
The long trip from New Zealand proved worthwhile for the Robert Price trained horse.
Ridden by jockey Billy Owen, Tradtri took victory in the Macarthur Square Fashions Bong Bong Cup over 1560 metres.
The Gratz Vella trained Damysus finished second while Frankenbeans, trained by Donna Grisedale, was third.
Highlands trainer Graeme Spackman had two horses in the race - Central Act and Jesta Rollingstone - which finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Spackman said he was pleased with the results.
"I was happy enough with my two horses. They weren't good enough on the day, but they tried their hardest,” he said.
Despite the hot conditions, more than 6500 people attended Friday's annual Bong Bong Picnic Races.
The heat proved no burden for the horses, with four track records for fastest times broken on the day.
Bong Bong Picnic Race Day secretary manager Peter Hales said the race track was ideal on Friday.
"The course was a good toot, under the old ratings," he said.
"It was a fast track with a lot of good grass. The horses got around quickly."
The big winner on the day was jockey Tim Phillips, who rode four winners.
Phillips combined with trainer Donna Grisedale for three victories, before riding a Sam Kavanagh trained horse to victory in the Bong Bong Stayers Class One and Maiden Plate over 2300m.
