On November 7, the personal trainers (PT) from Anytime Fitness in Bowral donated their time and skills to raise money and awareness to combat diabetes in support of PT Henry Yuill who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
The gym ran 30 minute personal training sessions for $20 with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to charity and 37 Highlanders answered the call.
"The generosity was fantastic," Mr Yuill said.
"Once you mentioned diabetes everyone was so willing to support the cause and participate."
The support was so great that club manager Kylie Whatman said they ran out of personal training spots on the day.
"We had to fit people in elsewhere, that's how generous people were," she said.
In the lead-up to Christmas, Ms Whatman said Anytime Fitness Bowral would donate to a local shelter.
"Every year our members donate food and gifts," she said.
"Generally if a member of the public wants to join and makes a donation we cut out any joining fees and make membership a little cheaper for them."
Anyone wanting to participate in the Christmas drive or make a donation to the Australian Diabetes Council can visit Anytime Fitness in Bowral at c2/68 Station St, Bowral NSW 2576 or call 4862 1874.
