HILL TOP put in a dominant display at Lackey Park on Saturday.
The side impressed with bat and ball during its clash with the East Bowral Blues.
Hill Top showed no trouble adapting to the two-day format, finishing with an 80-run lead at stumps.
Blues captain Tony Capps won the toss and elected to bat first.
Despite the best effort of young gun Charlie Dummer (20), East Bowral struggled to a first innings total of 97.
Matt Doust was the pick of the bowlers with 3/27 off nine overs, while Alex Debs and Dean Webb picked up two wickets apiece.
Hill Top captain Simon Reid said he was pleased with his team's performance in the field.
Due to the hot conditions, Reid said Hill Top aimed to "get it over and done with".
"We had an aggressive game plan and bowled in a lot better areas," he said.
In reply, openers Cameron Arlington (40) and Tim Goldfinch (31) laid a solid foundation with an 80-run partnership.
Their stand was supported by good performances from Debs (48), Webb (26) and Steve McNaught (15).
At the end of play, the visitors were 5/177, with Reid and Ollie Disher unbeaten at the crease.
Reid said Hill Top's batsmen threw their wickets away, but he was still pleased with the day's play.
If the side can push for an outright victory next Saturday, Hill Top may move to the top of the ladder.
