THE 2014 Tough Mudder Sydney competition was a winner for the Highlands.
More than 10,000 athletes headed to Wingello for the event last weekend.
Despite being a NSW-based Mudder, it attracted competitors from across Australia.
And there could could be more good news on the horizon.
Tough Mudder Australasia general manager Jeremy Kann hinted at a possible return to Wingello in the future.
When asked if the Mudder could be held in the Highlands again, Kann said "I see no reason why not".
"It's been terrific," he said.
"We are always looking for new venues, but we'll wait and see."
Participants were confronted with rain, hail and lots of mud, along with a range of challenging obstacles on Saturday and Sunday.
The 18km obstacle course challenge was designed by British Special Forces to test the all-round strength, stamina, teamwork and camaraderie of athletes.
Official figures from the 2014 Tough Mudder are expected to be released later this week.
However, Kann estimated between 10,000 to 15,000 competitors took part in the two-day event.
Course designers spent more than six months preparing the Wingello location for Tough Mudder.
There were plenty of new obstacles unveiled on the weekend, including Fire In Your Hole.
Fire In Your Hole was part of the Legionnaires Loop for returning Tough Mudder participants.
It saw participants fly through a flaming fire obstacle to land in a pool of fire and mud.
Kann said organisers were pleased with the success of the event
"It's been great, really good," he said.
"We are rapt with the way it's gone."
