The 2014 Kollege of Knowledge Kommittee for Kids' (KKKK) Gentlemen's Lunch at Highlands Golf Club was dubbed a success by KKKK president Tony Springett.
While the final fundraising tally won't be known until Monday afternoon, Mr Springett estimated that close to $150,000 was raised on Friday.
Mr Springett said he was pleased with the event.
"It was very good, everyone was very generous," he said.
"I think we will go close to last year's amount, which was around $150,000."
Entertainment was provided by comedian and ventriloquist Darren Carr, who even coaxed Councillor Garry Turland into being part of his act.
"Darren was fantastic," Mr Springett said.
A fundraising auction was run by Nick Johnson and items included a yellow budgie, which sold for $1100.
Mr Springett said funds raised would go into a pool of money, which would later be distributed to projects when groups applied to the KKKK.
