A TEAM of Bowral bowlers will compete at the State Fours finals at The Entrance Bowling Club on Wednesday and Thursday.
Bowral's Stephen Della, Russell Knight, Mick Spong and Mick Armstrong will be back in action and ready to put in a good display.
Bowral has made it to the last 16 in the state and hopes to release a good attacking good following the team's impressive form in the early rounds.
But to get to the last 16 out of more than 500 clubs is a success on its own.
At Bowral Bowling Club, the second round of the RSL Shield was played at Bowral Bowling Club on Saturday.
Matches were played in the single and triples formats.
Mick Spong, Keith Edwards and Cameron New defeated John O'Brian, Gordon Lewis and Greg Lewis 30-12 in their triples match.
Team Lewis failed to fire in the match and after 10 ends, team New led 19-2 and team Lewis didn't know which way to turn to try and get shots.
Team New was not going to give its opposition any chance to get back into the match and went on for an 18-shot win.
In the singles match, Jack Tonkin defeated Don Weller 28-27 and club members agreed this was the match for the day.
After 12 ends, the scores were level at 10-all and both players could not get a break in the game as top bowls was being played.
Weller then took a slim lead and took an extension of the lead to look like the winner.
But then Tonkin let go some good draw shots to just get over the line by one shot.
Both players must be congratulated in a top display of bowls all afternoon. Team New is still on top after the second week of matches.
