BOWRAL cyclist Tirian McManus is aiming to grab gold for Australia.
McManus, 20, has once again been selected to represent his country at the World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The championships will run from November 7-9 and McManus will compete in the team pursuit category.
It will be the third time that he has competed at the World Cup.
In January 2014, the talented cyclist won the Omnium and team pursuit classes, while a chest infection affected his performance in 2013.
Despite the setback, McManus's team finished fourth in the road pursuit category.
He said he hoped to put in another strong performance next month.
"I've been improving through the years and I'm really looking forward to this one," he said.
McManus enjoyed the ideal preparation in the lead-up to the competition.
Earlier his month, he competed at the 2015 Oceania Track Championships in Adelaide, where he won a gold and silver medals.
McManus combined with Sam Welsford, Daniel Fitter and Callum Scotson to win the team pursuit event.
The team finished in an impressive time of four minutes and two seconds in the final.
McManus finished runner-up in the points race, falling to previous Omnium World Champion Aaron Gate.
He said he was proud of his performances.
"It was a great competition, I'm absolutely rapt with that result," he said.
McManus began cycling when he was nine years old and has gone on to forge an impressive record, including outstanding results at two previous World Cups.
He said he enjoyed the competitive nature of the sport.
"I'm competitive, as most people are generally," he said.
"I enjoy the technical side of it, the racing and the feeling of going fast on a bike."
