The Campbelltown Historical Ghost Tour is a new addition to Macarthur's popular ghost-spotting scene and will be held on Saturday, October 25.
The outdoor walking tour will depart from Koshigaya Park in Campbelltown at 6.30pm before exploring what are believed to be some of the most haunted 'hot spots' in Campbelltown, which boasts many historic, colonial-era buildings, churches and graveyards dating back to the early 1800s.
The creek where Fisher's ghost was spotted in 1826 will be included in the tour, along with the locality of his home and also his burial site in St Peter's cemetery along with the location of the colonial gallows, the Campbelltown Visitor Centre, which was once a Catholic school and Emily Cottage where many modern-day residents have claimed to see a ghost of a woman who was killed in a lightning strike in 1883.
The torch-led, adults-only tour will be run by Sydney Investigation Ghost Tours and led my paranormal investigators Jenny Van Genderen and Jeanette Kamper along with psychic medium Fiona Rayne.
The hosts will look for ghosts using specialised, electromagnetic field metres which measure residual energy and also digital voice recorders to hear spirit voices.
The new tour will be run in association with the Festival of Fisher's Ghost, which will be held in Campbelltown from October 30 to November 9. The cost of the three-and-a-half hour Campbelltown Historical Ghost Tour is $45 per person, which includes hot drinks, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
To book, call 0424 933 704 or visit www.macarthur.com.au for more information on the tour and the associated Festival of Fisher's Ghost.
More tours are planned for 2015.
