Following are some tips for surviving this stressful time:
Kavais the original Chill Pill. Kava is a Polynesian herb used to make a fermented alcoholic beverage used in traditional ceremonies. However, the kava root (minus the alcohol) is also a terrific remedy for anxiety. A kava tablet taken several times a day, and especially an hour before a stressful event can really calm the nerves.
Belly breathing switches on the calming or parasympathetic nervous system, releasing the feel good hormones dopamine and serotonin. Practise breathing low and slow into your belly. Only breathe through your nose.
The amino acid Glutamine is great for memory and switching on the mind. Herbs that are also helpful for concentration and strategic thinking include bacopa, ginkgo bilopa and coleus.
