His trip is an ambitious project entitled mediterr ann e to raise money for the most vulnerable victims of conflict, children, for Save the Children.
Early in October, Kingston arrived on foot in France, his 10th country from the 20 he plans to traverse within a year.
Fittingly, this halfway point took place at the highest point of the journey, which Kingston described as "a journey with many high points" with an ascent of Mont Blanc.
Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe and sits at 4810m and Kingston trekked the route to the summit from sea level.
"The ascent of Mont Blanc was a key milestone in my journey, coming just a couple of weeks short of the six-month mark. I was blessed with near perfect conditions for the two-day climb and the views across the Alps were stunning, the sun rising through endless clouds beneath my feet," Kingston said.
"That said, it was, like much of this magnificent journey, tough going. But the idea of mediterr ann?e is that it would be a challenge and long, physically painful days were part of this choice. The children suffering in conflict zones around the world have had no such choice and fundraising for Save the Children is a key reason for this journey.
"We've raised $30,000 so far and I hope to reach $100,000 by the end. It's a fitting figure given mediterr ann e also commemorates the Anzac Centenary in 2015."
From Mont Blanc, Kingston continued his trek through the Alps to Monaco and the next stage where he will traverse the south of France and Spain on mountain bike. Over the 12 month trip, Kingston will travel by foot, ski, kayak and mountain bike through 20 countries, over 15,000km.
