For the past four years the Australian Camps Association has been running a fantastic event - the Great Aussie Camp Out (GACO).
GACO is an initiative to bring together Australians for one big night to experience camping.
The Outdoor Education Group, through a variety of events at its camps throughout NSW and Victoria, is supporting this initiative to get more people outdoors.
The Outdoor Education Group is inviting the Wingecarribee Shire community to its 'Adventure in my Back Yard' event.
It is opening Biloela Bush Camp for locals to come along and experience a night under canvas and participate in a range of family fun activities during the GACO weekend from Saturday, October 11 to Sunday October 12.
Bileola Bush Camp is located between Bangadilly National Park and Belangelo State Forest and accessed through Belangelo State Forest and there is plenty of space and equipment to make your family's camp out a success.
The event aims to provide an opportunity for friends and families to come together, set up a camp, participate in games, abseiling, canoeing or the flying fox run by The Outdoor Education Group staff.
If that's not your thing, then you can go for a stroll by the river, share a meal with all the campers on site and enjoy being outdoors.
If you don't have a tent or sleeping mat then they can be supplied by the Outdoor Education Group.
There will also be a photo competition run over the weekend with five brand new sleeping bags from One Planet up for grabs.
GACO and The Outdoor Education Group promote healthy, active lifestyles and encourage individuals, families, friends and clubs to enjoy the great outdoors by experiencing the fun and adventure of camping out.
