The Moss Vale and District Basketball Association is hosting an official attempt to gain the world record at the game of Knockout, also known as Killer.
You don't need to know how to play basketball, you just need to be able to throw the ball at the hoop.
"The game is a continuous knock-out format, where you need to beat the person in front of you in the line by getting the ball through the hoop," association director Sandra Mitchell said.
"We need more than 581 people to break the record on September 13."
Mrs Mitchell said there would be a carnival atmosphere at the stadium on the day, and encouraged everyone to register for the event.
Stadium doors open at 8.30am and everyone needs to be in the building by 9.30am. Tickets are $5, which includes a t-shirt, and can be bought at the stadium after 4pm every weekday or book by calling 4868 1569. World record attempt ticket holders will also be able to pre-purchase tickets to the NBL pre-season game between the Hawks and Kings, which is on the same day at 4.30pm.
Those tickets are $15 and seats are limited.
