HILL TOP ended its season on a high with a 1-0 win over Bundanoon on Saturday at Hampden Park.
Since the competition split, Hill Top had been searching for a win and finally succeeded after weeks of hard work.
Sharon Craig scored the only goal of the game about 15 minutes into the second half off a nice cross from Sarah Plackett.
Hill Top coach John Parsons was wrapped with the team's win and hoped it would be something to build on for next season.
"They've worked hard for four or five weeks without a result and (Saturday) showed what I was hoping they'd get. It probably just came together for them with the conditions and they knocked the ball around well and took the chance when it came. Bundy's a good side so it's not easy to do that against them," he said.
"I wanted them to play premier league and some of them were a little bit unsure. Hopefully (the win) will give them a bit of confidence for next season."
Bundanoon coach John Sant was left a bit shell-shocked by the loss.
Sant said wet conditions hampered his side.
"We're not a wet weather soccer team. We like to play quickly but we couldn't get our act together (on Saturday)," he said.
"Hill Top really took it to us. We've got to get back to basics otherwise we're going to get hammered by Robertson (this) week.
"Taking nothing away from Hill Top, they played well. They were first to the ball and we've got to adapt to conditions. The girls tried hard but couldn't match it with Hill Top."
Despite the loss Bundanoon finished second on the competition ladder and will face Robertson this weekend for a spot in the grand final.
"There's a lot of improvement needed and a lot of determination. The girls confidence is just shot so we'll try and work it out."
