Friday, August 22 is a national day of hope for Australians and the Highlands community to show support for beating cancer.
Cancer Council volunteers have been out selling items at four Daffodil Day sites - Springetts Arcade Bowral, Sally's Corner Sutton Forest, Mittagong Highlands Marketplace and Moss Vale IGA.
On this day, everyone is encouraged to wear a Cancer Council pin, visit a Daffodil Day site or donate via the website.
Daffodil Day stalls offer Cancer Council teddy bears, pens, pins, key rings, wrist bands and of course, fresh daffodils.
Cancer Council hopes to raise $3.2 million in NSW and $9.7 million nationally with funds going towards research, prevention, advocacy programs and support services.
As of 3pm Friday, more than $85,000 had been raised according to the Daffodil Day website.
Daffodil Day is the largest national fundraising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere and Highlanders have joined in the national effort to help beat cancer.
