IT WAS another good weekend for Chevalier College in the ISA (Independent Sporting Association) competition as the finals began.
Chevalier's tennis Firsts played superbly in their final on Saturday defeating St Pats six sets to two.
The team comprising Hanan and Najat Chidiac, Gabrielle Murphy and Finn Corbett did Chevalier proud.
Coach Andrew Langdon was a bundle of nerves throughout the morning and was very relieved and proud once the team's victory was secured.
Chevalier has 11 teams progressing to this Saturday's finals.
Four netball teams, four hockey teams and three rugby teams have all qualified for their end of season big dance.
The Chevalier boys and girls football teams unfortunately found their opponents too strong on the weekend.
The Junior A girls just could not score in their game and went down to an extra time goal against Redlands.
In the rugby at Oakhill the 14s and 16s ended up second best on the day but can look back on a successful season.
The 16s struggled with player numbers all season and the 14s just had a bad day.
The 13s started the day for Chevalier with yet another impressive display of attacking rugby.
The 15s played its third game of the season against St Andrews and knew it would always be close after previous 19-19, and 38-38 results.
The half time score of 14-14 set up a tight second half but the Chevalier boys prevailed by one try.
Chevalier Firsts kept it tight and defended well again.
James Marsh directed the side superbly and scored the decisive try following on from first half tries to Conor Davidson and Henry Blumentals.
In a 19-0 win Chevalier's best were Marsh, Pat Byrne, Blumentals and Lachlan Hennessy.
Chevalier's hockey girls had a terrific day at Moorebank.
It was very tight games for both the Firsts and Seconds.
Holly Furphy scored for Chevalier against Oxley, with Millie Findlay and Holly both outstanding.
Kaitlyn Smith scored the goal for the Seconds with Adelaide Mills and Erin Forbes voted the team's best.
The Thirds may have gone down but not without a huge fight and goalkeeper Lucy Stein was superb.
The junior girls sides both dominated and scored six goals apiece to progress to the main game.
In the netball, Chevalier Firsts played superbly and matched Barker for much of the game before Barker pulled away at the end.
The Seconds had a great win against St Spyridons.
Chevalier's Intermediate A's and Junior A's both won their semis convincingly.
The Chev versus Chev Junior C and D game was always close with the Junior Cs prevailing 22-14.
