The school held a Stage 3 science fair to foster lifelong learning skills and highlight the importance of independence and enquiry.
Students worked in small groups and investigated a scientific topic or concept and then designed a platform to demonstrate these findings or explore the concepts in a practical and engaging activity.
Classroom teacher Michaele Fisher said the science fair allowed students to use their theoretical knowledge in a practical way.
"The science fair allowed students to combine their knowledge and understanding with the elements of natural curiosity and creativity," she said.
"The presentations were a result of the students journey in carrying out investigations and testing hypotheses. The results were not a measure of success, rather the stages of learning and experiences involved in the process. Students were able to convey their understandings and engage their audience by demonstrating their understandings.
"These experiences are rich authentic tasks that are preparing our senior students for further learning in preparation for high school."
