Acacia Quartet presents the third concert in its Rose Room Series, called Towards Elysium.
Towards Elysium is a 90-minute work that describes the human condition in all of its triumphs and tragedies.
It has been described as tender, anguished, humorous, melancholy and beautiful.
Lyle Chan's compositions have been performed by a diverse range of musicians.
These include the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the New Sydney Wind Quintet, the choir Cantillation and Sydney Philharmonia Choir.
His most well-known work is Rendezvous with Destiny for narrator and chamber ensembles.
Lyle holds a bachelor's degree with the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he studied under Conrad Pope, J.Peter Burkholder and the Pro Arte String Quartet.
Tickets for Towards Elysium are $40 for adults, $30 for concession, $10 for under 18s or $90 for a family.
Drinks will be available from 6.30pm on Saturday, August 2 for a 7pm concert.
