The program aims to encourage locals to be more aware of the attractions in the area and show them off to visitors.
“We know that about half of people visiting the region are doing so to visit family and friends,” said Destination Southern Highlands Group Manager Steve Rosa.
“So the Ambassador Program rewards Highlands residents for supporting local businesses.”
The offers span accommodation, food & wine, attractions, shopping and services.
As August is usually the region’s coldest month, Mr Rosa suggests it would be a good time to visit local restaurants to keep warm and spoil yourself with delicious, comfort food.
“For example, both Milton Park and Peppers Manor House have special dining offers in the program, so it is a good excuse to visit these restaurants and relax in front of their open fires.”
Mr Rosa said that accommodation vouchers come in useful when you have an overflow of guests, while there are significant discounts at local attractions such as International Cricket Hall of Fame, Illawarra Fly, Berrima Courthouse and Highland Trike Tours.
There are several ways you can access the wide range of vouchers: download the My Southern Highlands app, print the vouchers from the website, or use the vouchers from the Southern Highlands Information Centre in Mittagong.
