FoodPath presented a tour of Yelverton Truffles at Robertson, which was well attended by Highlanders and visitors alike.
With the truffle season set to close in August, it was one of the final tours of Yelverton for the year.
However, this was a very special trip for all involved.
Last month, the farm grew the largest French Black Perigord Truffle (1.172kg) ever recorded in Australia.
Yelverton Truffles owners Ted and Barbara Smith gave an in-depth discussion on truffles on Saturday.
Topics covered included a description of the food, history, popular edible varieties (including French Perigord) and how to use a dog to find truffles.
Ted and Barbara have a blue cattle dog named Jet which can sniff out truffles in the ground.
Participants then took a walk to "La Trufferie" for a hunt for truffles.
The tour finished with a sample of three special truffle-inspired dishes.
The first was infused egg with fresh truffle on top, which was followed by truffle brie with shredded truffle on top.
Everyone was invited to warm up with a hearty potato and leek soup with truffle butter.
