A FAMILIAR face around Bowral Golf Club, Darryl Purchase, is certainly one to watch out for over the coming days.
The current Australian Senior PGA champion, Purchase has qualified for the British Senior Open, which is being played in Wales.
He is playing at the famous links in Bridgend, South Wales, from July 24-27.
Purchase works in the pro shop at Bowral Golf Club and has also previously worked at Bowral Country Club.
Purchase qualified earlier in the week after a great round of golf, where he finished one over (73) to qualify for his first major championship.
He joins Australia's Peter Senior and Mike Harwood, along with New Zealand's Greg Turner.
Purchase played on some tours in the 1980s and early '90s.
He won several pro-ams and some NSW Order of Merit events, but nothing major until 2013.
After turning 50 last year, he decided to have a crack at the senior's tour.
Purchase came from behind to win at the 2013 Australian Senior PGA Championship at the Richmond Golf Club.
He started the final round at the Australian championship five shots behind Kym Olsen, but his even finish after 54 holes secured him a two-stroke victory.
He will be hoping to repeat that success in Wales over the next few days.
