The store will host free DIY ‘How to Plant a Tree’ workshops run by expert team members.
Southern Highlands residents will be given handy tips on how to plant and care for trees of all sizes and varieties.
National Tree Day on Sunday, July 27 provides Australians with the opportunity to do something positive for the environment.
Planet Ark’s National Tree Day manager Debbie Agnew said trees and plants provided more than just environmental and aesthetic value.
“The payoffs also include financial benefits such as storm water management and reducing the need for air-conditioning as well as health benefits,” she said.
Bunnings Warehouse Mittagong complex manager Andrew Veitch said he was looking forward to the workshops, “that will provide local residents with the skills and tips they need to grow their own healthy trees and plants.”
Free kids DIY planting workshops will also be held at Bunnings Warehouse Mittagong this weekend.
Team members will run kids craft planting activities such as decorating pots using recycled materials.
