They are calling on the Highlands community to support them in their fundraising efforts.

esCarpade is Camp Quality's biggest annual fundraiser.

A fleet of up to 80 colourful cars, all of which are more than 20 years old, travel 2500 km from Broken Hill to Albury from 18 - 25 October 2014 on the outback motoring adventure.

The new route will travel through Broken Hill, Packsaddle for lunch and back to Broken Hill on day one.

Then on to Mt Victor for lunch, Port Augusta, Clare Valley, Barossa, Berri, Wentworth, Clare School, Hay, Lockhart and last stop is Albury.

Highlands locals are entering a 1992 Holden Commodore into the event and they're calling on residents to get behind them to support their fundraising efforts in the run-up to October.

A Trivia Night will be held at Moss Vale Services Club on August 16 at 7pm or people can donate online at www.mycampquality.org.au/dorris

All money raised helps create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia - including those in the Highlands area.

This is the second time that Team Doris has entered esCarpade.

Bill van Diemen said he hoped the Commodore would make it.

"We're hoping that our old car will make it through the challenging week-long off-road course," he said.

"Any support Highlands locals can give us - big or small, will really help kids living with cancer, which is what this is all about.

"Last year, thanks to the Highlands businesses and community, we raised more than $10,500 for local children."

Along the route, the team will pull into towns in a fanfare of sirens, horns, water canons, lights and colour as a way of spreading Camp Quality's message of optimism.

They will also visit primary schools where the Camp Quality puppets perform their show which teaches students how to be supportive of children living with cancer.
