The Ghost Train will make its debut at the Mittagong Playhouse this weekend.
The production was written in 1923 by English actor and playwright Arthur Ridley.
It is set in the waiting room of a remote railway station in rural Cornwall.
The Ghost Train has been as a dubbed a "tale of mystery and intrigue".
Cast and crew were nervous but excited when they held their final dress rehearsal on Tuesday night at the playhouse.
Assistant director Steve Clancy said it had been a "stressful" time in the lead-up to The Ghost Train's debut.
"It has been an exciting process but stressful because of the technical nature of the show," he said.
"Everyone is doing their thing... the cast will have earned their mark."
Steve said HTG was keen to see the production get off the ground on Friday night.
"They've had a good time gelling together as cast and crew," he said.
"These guys are fairly tight, which is good."
The Ghost Train will debut at the Mittagong Playhouse this Friday and Saturday nights, both shows start at 8pm. There will be a show on Sunday at 2pm.
This will be followed by shows on July 25, 26, August 1 and 2 at 8pm, and July 27 at 2pm.
Tickets range from $18 on opening night to $22 - booking fees apply.

Nelson played roles in the Highlands Theatre Group productions Don't Drink The Water and Chicago.
He said he was pleased to be guided by The Ghost Train director Ebony Hope.

* Pat Pouell, plays the role of the "grumpy Station Manager" and says he is "back in the saddle" for his first play in 20 years.

"I had such a good time in (HTG production) Chicago with this mob."
* Kate Davidson, who plays the role of Elsie and is new to the Southern Highlands.
Kate has seven years of experience in theatre, mainly in musicals.
Kate said it had been a "pretty frantic" rehearsal period for The Ghost Train.
