Visitors will have the chance to walk through a sea of colour with eight distinct gardens on display.
The showcase won’t be just for garden enthusiasts, but will be a visual treat for anyone who strolls through them.
Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens chairwoman Charlotte Webb said the weekend was about showcasing the Highlands.
“The eight wonderful gardens are representative of the enormous variety of gardens in the Southern Highlands,” Charlotte said.
“Visitors to these gardens will see why the Southern Highlands is considered the garden capital of Australia.”
Along with the warm shades of autumn floating on the trees and crunching under the feet of walkers, there will be a selection of rare and unusual climate plants for sale.
There will be a pop-up nursery at Quindalup garden where visitors can become inspired for their own garden transformations.
All plant materials come from local gardens and are propagated by trained volunteers who have carefully nurtured them to perfection.
A historic treat is included in this year’s program and combines quintessential homesteads with country gardens.
The Oldbury Experience includes Oldbury Farm, Oldbury Vale and Oldbury Cottage.
Friends of Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens (SHBG) committee member Carolyn Dwyer said the three historic properties will be the highlight of the weekend.
“Oldbury has only rarely been opened for private functions because it is privately owned,” Carolyn said.
Entry will only be via Illawarra Highway and a shuttle bus will be available to take people around the gardens.
Enjoy a serene stroll this weekend and embrace the vibrant colours of autumn at the Town and Country Open Gardens.
All funds raised will go towards the Southern Highlands Botanic Garden, with the most funds coming from the Quindalup pop-up nursery and admission prices.
To see all eight gardens including The Oldbury Experience throughout the entire weekend it will cost $30 or $5 for each garden excluding The Oldbury Experience.
For just The Oldbury Experience the price is $15 and school children have free admission over the weekend.
