Police have arrested and charged a 70-year-old Mittagong man for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl.

In December 2013, detectives from the Child Abuse Squad were told of several allegations against a 70-year-old man, who had allegedly indecently and sexually assaulted a young girl on several occasions throughout 2010, 2011 and 2012.
During the time of the alleged offences, the girl was between 12 and 14-years-old and assisted the man with his Bowral business.
He was charged with: seven counts of aggravated indecent assault, one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 16 years, one count of sexual intercourse with a child between 10-14 years and one count of attempted sexual intercourse of child between 10-14 years.
After conducting an investigation into the allegations, detectives arrested a 70-year-old man at his Mittagong property on Wednesday, April 16 and took him to Bowral Police Station.
He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Goulburn Local Court today (Thursday, April 17).
