The Roberts family would like to thank everyone who has offered support in so many different ways in the last two months.
Since the article published in last week's Southern Highland News, financial support, donations to the online auction and groups prepared to run fundraisers to assist the family has grown dramatically.
This has helped to remove a lot of stress the family has about bills and costs.
The Moss Vale toddler remains in ICU, now week three, and one chest drain has been removed without a lung collapsing. Improvements in her overall stats, including being able to come off one of the 12 medications she is on and they have been able to move her to a better ventilator. She still has a long tough road and there is now talk about getting her back on chemotherapy. But she remains a very sick little girl.
The family said the generosity of people was truly wonderful.
"Since the article we've received more than $6000 in financial or in kind donations," Cheyanne's mother Bec Roberts said.
"We were pleased to open up the online auction on Tuesday morning with a lot more items now valuing over $2000 on offer."
The online auction will run through to Saturday, April 19, at 5pm, with all funds raised going to the family for the ongoing costs in caring for Cheyanne.
"Some wonderful organisations in the Southern Highlands have also offered to undertake some other fundraising activities and we cannot thank them enough," she said.
Just $20 means Bec can get a decent meal rather than a microwave dinner, $50 means she can have a bed for the night rather than a chair, and $100 covers petrol for the rest of the family to visit Sydney from Moss Vale.
Cheyanne has had so many things to deal with and has proved what a fighter she is, but she wouldn't be able to fight without the daily blood transfusions, platelets and albumin she receives.
Through the Support Cheyanne facebook page - www.facebook.com/supportcheyanne - the family has launched a Family and Friends of Cheyanne Blood Donation Drive and is asking everyone in the Southern Highlands who can to donate blood - effectively asking people to save a life.
