But in a good fightback from the boys in red and white, Moss Vale scored four goals to finish with a 5-4 victory.

Andrew Corby scored twice for Bowral with Ben Cupitt and Scott Morton also finding the back of the net.

For Moss Vale, Hugh Chivers scored in the first half.

Dane McAndrew then bagged two goals in the second half before Todd Gilroy leveled the match before scoring the winning goal.

Moss Vale did not have the best first half but banded well together in the second half to claim victory.

Bowral had eight players out and a team thrown together an hour before the match.

Captain Jason Dawes said it was a difficult match with new combinations and a very different backline from the past few weeks.

"We started well but we didn't mark up well in the second half and the young team came back over the top of us. That's what probably hurt us in the end," he said.

"Our backline in defence was a mix and we didn't have anyone from our normal team. The young fellas passed the ball well in the first half but started to run with it a bit more in the second half and it didn't work."

Bowral will welcome the two week break and will hope to field a full strength side against Robertson in a few weeks time.

The last time these two teams met Robertson won 3-0.

"We're really going to have to start working on our defence. We've changed the team from last year so we're still trying to work out positions and finding a way for us to work together for the next few weeks."
