The NSW Justice Association Highlands branch has reopened community desks at several locations in the local area including a new, more prominent desk in Springett's Arcade, Bowral.
The Bowral desk was the first to be opened in the Highlands more than 18 months ago in Stafford Cottage.
JP Volunteers hope the new location will make the service more accessible to anyone in need of a JP to witness and sign documents.
The new desk was made possible with sponsorship support from the IMB's Community Foundation and the provision of free space in Springett's Arcade offered by the Springett Family.
IMB Bowral branch manager Di Manley and Tony Springett as well as other community leaders Wingecarribee Council's general manager Jason Gordon and Bowral Police detective inspector Ward Hanson were on hand to celebrate the opening of the new community desk.
Other desks were established at Highlands Marketplace, Mittagong, and the Supa IGA, Moss Vale, last year.
Highlands branch president John Reid JP said more than 3000 documents had been witnessed and signed since the local community desk service started.
He said there were more than 30 volunteers helping to deliver the free service with more volunteer JPs welcome to become involved.
The Bowral desk is open each Wednesday from 10am-1pm, Moss Vale Supa IGA each Thursday from 10am-1pm and Highland Marketplace each Friday from 10am to 1pm as well as Saturdays at the same time from February 4.
