IT took two days of hard play to equal the course record, but in the end New Zealand's Katherine Bristow emerged victorious at the ALPG tournament held at Moss Vale Golf Club last week.
Bristow scored eight under par in the second round for a total of 13 under for the tournament which equalled the club record and put the winner's cheque in her hands.
Moss Vale General Manager Jason Harwood said it was the second time in three years a Kiwi international had won at the course and described her performance as "pretty impressive".
"It was fantastic. The members had a great time and the quality of the golf from the girls was outstanding," he said.
"Everyone had a great time."
Harwood said they had about 120 amateur playing participating who were "all in with a chance".
"It was a great event for the district. There were a lot of people who came to watch."
It was the eighth year Moss Vale hosted the tournament and Harwood said they hoped to continue to do so in the coming years.
"We'd love to, it's a real highlight of the year for the members," he said.
"Hopefully we can continue and get better and better each year."
Harwood thanked all the sponsors without whose support he said it would be impossible to hold such an event.
"Hopefully it'll be bigger and better next year."
