The Digital Ignition Multi-platform Clinic was a workshop held by StoryLabs and Screen Australia designed to help film, documentary and television program makers expand beyond conventional ways of engaging with an audience, for example, expanding a film concept across into internet gaming.
The clinic was held between November 20 and November 25 with creative crews from eight forthcoming Australian projects gathering to learn from some of the world's premier multi-platform storytellers.
StoryLabs co-founder Gary Hayes said the choice to hold the clinic at Fountaindale had paid off.
"The reason we chose Fountaindale and this region was to take them out of their normal environment," he said.
"This house particularly has lots of character and lots of story history as well.
"It inspires them creatively to expose themselves to new ideas."
Mr Hayes said the week long workshop consisted of expert presentations, collaborative sessions and one on one mentoring aimed to introduce new techniques to the professional storytellers.
"It's an intensive sharing environment where experts from lots of different areas come together with project teams who have real challenges with their complex multi-platform projects."
"Throughout the week we take them through a process which gradually answers those issues.
"It's really a learning experience combined with very practical outcomes."
Screen Australia investment manager Mike Cowap said the workshop would help film, television and game creators find new ways to connect with their audience through active audience participation.
"People here are story tellers of the future."
Mr Cowap said he was impressed with Fountaindale Grand Manor as a creative environment.
"What you get with something like this, a residential workshop is a place that's kind of rich and away from metropolitan settlements, is complete emersion where people can to an extent step away from their normal lives and really concentrate on developing their own project."
"I've done so many workshops in the past where you do it in the centre of Sydney or the centre of Melbourne and everybody goes their separate ways at 5.30.
"So I reckon we'll definitely be back here."
