AS the Southern Highlands Archery Club continued to grow with five new members in the past few weeks, members of the club have taken to the tournament circuit again with some impressive results.

At Hunters Hill Grahame Benson placed third in the Russ Herron memorial clout in the Open Mens Longbow division.
At the target shoot hosted by the Illawarra Club Don Young made a long awaited return to tournament shooting, placing second in the Veteran mens compound division.
While Benson fought his way back from third place to second with an impressive target round just putting two arrows out of the gold in 72 shots.
Five members of the club set out to Yass to contest two days of unmarked field shooting on the weekend.
The round consisted of 24 targets set out at unmarked distances out to 55m.
The course required a talent to gauge pr guess these distances, then allow for angles up, down and across hillsides before allowing for wind drift.
Five divisions were contested and five gold medals were an impressive result for the club.
Glen Preece placed first in the masters mens compound division shooting enough points to win before retiring with an injury.
Preece's son Edward showed great improvement in form an concentration to shoot a personal best on Saturday.
He shot even better on Sunday to finish first in the junior mens compound division.
Diann Benson bounced back after the recent death of her mother to claim the open womens compound division with a score just six points off a state record.
The shoot was hotly contested by a strong Australian Bowhunting club from Wagga who brought several shooters with them across most divisions.
The most noted of them was Bruce Ramsey who represented Australia last year in the World Bowhunting championships in Nambia in Africa, placing sixth in the world.
He placed second to Grahame Benson who took out the open mens division by 15 points.
Max Preece, shooting in the cadet boys compound division smashed the existing state and national record on Saturday.
Joseph Hand from the Wagga Club also went past the mark but finished second.
On Sunday, Hand finished with a great score and momentarily broke Max's record set the day before.
Waiting for Max to walk back from the Hillside, the Southern Highland members waited nervously.
Max not only won, but set another record.
Max broke the old mark by 35 points on Saturday and 50 on Sunday.
