Bowral’s first grade men and women’s hockey teams may not be travelling too well but the second grade men and women and under-15 Crusaders held top spot as of round 10.

The second grade Wallaby women have managed to score 14 goals, while only conceding seven to sit two points ahead of fellow Bowralites the Kookaburras.
The second grade men have managed to score a massive 35 goals, while only letting in 14. The defending champions are just ahead of arch rivals Mittagong Tigers.
Bowral hold good positions in all grades with half of their 18 teams currently in the top three.
In junior hockey last Saturday, the under-11 Penguins beat Gib Gate 2-1. Hamish Knowles scored both of Bowral’s goals and both teams played solid team hockey making for a close exciting game.
The under-11 Wallabies and Burrawang fought out a nailbitting 0-0 draw. Both teams had good opportunities to score, but defence ruled the day. Bowral almost scored in the last 12 seconds in a good, even game.
The Minkeys had their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Mittagong. Monique Bernie had an excellent game, scoring the winning goal. Mittagong tried hard to fight back but the defence from Emma Brown and Kelsie Bernie proved too strong, while Emma Kawelewski and Harry Pinczi both played well.
