ON February 8, 2012, I had the dubious pleasure to sit in the gallery at Wingecarribee Shire Council meeting and listen to our councillors playing God with people's lives.
At least once in a lifetime, everyone who lives in the Shire should have the experience of attending a council meeting. The reason for my attendance was to right an injustice done to me as a ratepayer and resident of Robertson village.
In no more than a few minutes, council can financially and emotionally rip your life to pieces.
As a great grandmother living in this shire, I work hard to maintain my home.
As a parent I hope to one day hand down to my family my property to make their lives a little easier.
I believe compensation has been paid to some of the interested persons involved in my dilemma and that all their demands have been indulged.
I asked for my rights at no expense to council or public, and the expression "kicked in the head" seems to apply. You do understand it's ratepayers' money being spent.
Personally, I would like to express my thanks for Judy Fisk, her family and staff for their support in this matter. It is a rare thing to see people help without any gain.
