Sheepwash signage

06 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
SPEED signs on Sheepwash Road vary between silly and dangerous.

There are 40km/h for much of the road between Kangaloon Road and the railway crossing.

It seems not to matter whether it is a week end or holiday nor whether there is anyone working on or near the said road. This breeds contempt for such signs and frustration which disregards such signs.

But there is more. Turning right from Kangaloon on to Sheepwash Road three signs block the driver's view of oncoming traffic from the left, so by the time you drive out into the middle of the road to see that it is clear you are likely to be hit from the right.

The photo was taken on Wednesday morning (1/2/12). Though invisible to the viewer, there are three cars behind the signs to the left.

Maybe I'm missing something; perhaps there some kind of prize for using road signs to promote accidents?

Can't you just see the court scene? "Well, yes Judge, I fulfilled all the OH&S regulations and here are the accidents to prove it."
