 Keep children out of cafes

Keep children out of cafes

13 Dec, 2010 12:00 AM
DEAR parents of babies and small children;

We patrons of cafes in the Southern Highlands are not happy that you arrive with your noisy offspring and ruin our breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Having small humans ruins our social life.

We should understand that and stay at home with our friends for coffee/food or we can take them through the drive-through at McDonald's.

You have made the choice to breed and it's not something those of us without grown-up children or without children should have to put up (sic).

Your screaming annoying kiddies make me/us angry and I implore you to stay at home.

MRS J KILLINGTON

You have to be kidding, or of low moral fibre to even have written this. Next will you ban "breeders" from your supermarket? Cinema? Markets? Main street?? You, Mrs Killington, should be ashamed of yourself and your anti-social mindset.

Mrs Killington,i gather you have had children,or maybe you had them and are paying hired help to raise them.As to keep every minute of your miserable life free to drink coffee with other narrow minded ingrates.I sincerely hope you wake up to yourself soon.

I am outraged by this! How dare you box all of us "breeders" into 1 catergory. You who have grown children or none what did you do while you children were small? We are entitled to a coffee, how are our children going to learn how to behave outside in public if we stay at home and fence them in? What stimulation will we give them if we stay away from public places?

You my dear should stay at home because your loud opinions in cafe's upset me with your constant whinging and griping about the world today. Keep your hostile mouth to yourself. You and your friends can go for drive though away from us so that we can bring up our children away from your negative attitude!

I seriously have never read anything more disturbing in all of my life! I bet you are the type of person that takes your precious dog into a place of food that is designed for HUMANS...actually commenting on this quote is not even worth my time!

After working in hospitality in the Southern Highlands for a number of years, this arrogance and rudeness does not surprise me at all. I have served far more demanding, self-important, impatient people who are old enough to have some manners over parents with difficult or disruptive children. It's not yours to dictate who should be allowed and if you are looking for complete peace rather than the buzzing social cafe culture that the highlands is known for, then maybe it is better to stay at home. Maybe it would be better if you hadn't been the result of 'breeding' with such a poor attitude.

This is written in such a way as to be provocative in a jocular manner ;)

Either that, or they are totally aware of what they are saying and are looking for a fight. Either way, the rag (newspaper) wins.

im a mum, and im also a patron of bowral cafes. im disgusted that you have decided you have the highest morals over everybody and therefore have spoken for us all!! i completely disagree with you and i believe it is you who whould be staying home or going through the driveway of a FAMILY restraunt, which, may i add openly welcomes our "noisy offspring" with a big huge playground...

disappointing to see that there are still some highlanders out there who think they are higher than others... tsk tsk tsk...

I'd love to know which cafe this woman frequents and take all my children there to "run a-muck" just to annoy her a bit more! How are children meant to learn how to behave in public if they are to stay at home? I don't know how old this woman is, or what century she's living in, but who in their right mind would write such a thing. Maybe she should stay at home and drink her tea. Us "breeders" will enjoy a coffee when we want, where we want, with who we want! We are paying customers who also need to eat and drink. You should be ashamed of yourself!
