A naked man bleeding from several stab wounds who staggered into a convenience store in Melbourne's east early today was rushed to hospital after staff raised the alarm.
Paramedics arrived at the convenience store in Whitehorse Road, Box Hill to find the injured man just before 5am.
Police said the man had stab wounds to the left side of his upper torso and appeared to have been bashed.
Paramedics described him as "quite agitated and with a fast heart rate" and reluctant to say what had happened..
"We were called to the store by staff, after the man walked into the shop suffering a number of injuries," intensive care paramedic Michael Benjamin said.
Paramedics gave the man a drip and some pain relief before taking him to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.
Police are investigating.
