THE Picton Swim Club’s Highlands contingent produced another strong performance at the Sydney Metropolitan championships at Homesbush on the weekend.
Marcus Bidewell, competing in the 10 years boys, won the 100m freestyle in a time of 1:08.87 minute. He also placed second in the 100m butterfly and fourth in the 100m backstroke.
Alicia Merlino, fresh from her time at the Pan Pacific School Games, was fourth in the 14 years girls 100m butterfly and eighth in the 14-15 years 200m butterfly.
Justin Wanczura finished fifth in the 100m and 200m breaststroke. Nine year-old Taylor Croudson competed at her first Metro meet.
