Blacks struggle to keep up with stacked Rams

20 May, 2009 11:06 AM
BOWRAL’S second graders were faced with a Camden side packed with first grade players at Eridge Park on Saturday, according to Blacks head coach Val Tyson.

The Blacks lost 29-10, but Tyson said it was a good effort by his chargers.

Tyson said a turning point in the match was when Jack Gates was spear-tackled, and dropped the ball in the second half.

Tyson said Gates dropped the ball because he was trying to save himself from the nasty tackle.

No penalty was awarded and Camden scored three tries soon after.

“At the end of the day I was pretty happy because we came up against a team full of first-graders,” Tyson said.

Tyson said a number of Blacks players who were in the first grade team last year recognised their Camden opponents in second grade.

Once again, Bowral had a tonne of possession and field position but could not register points on the scoreboard.

Sour grapes from a side which put the niggle in all game and were resposible for a near all in brawl...typical way Blacks try to play football. Val ought to do his homework as far as the team being "stacked" with 1st graders.
