THE season is only three rounds old, but there is already a pattern emerging for the Bowral Blacks.
o Start slowly and trail at half time.
o Control the ball and the match in the second half.
o Have a tonne of possession close to the opposition tryline but fail to execute the final pass and end up losing the match by a small margin.
It has become an all-too-familiar story for the young Blacks team and Saturday’s match at Vincentia at Eridge Park was no different.
The visitors scored first to set up a 7-0 lead before Bowral’s Ben Lewis got the Blacks back in the game.
Bowral trailed 7-5 at half time and with a strong wind blowing at their backs, the fans and players were equally confident of notching the team’s first win of the season.
The Blacks controlled the second half almost perfectly. They had play-after-play inside Vincentia’s red zone, but could not come up with the match winning try.
