LIVERPOOL’S All Saints under 18’s played well to come away with a 40-6 win over an enthusiastic Mittagong Lions outfit on Sunday morning at Mittagong Sportsground, but the scoreline did not reflect how the young Lions played.
With the sun beating down, Liverpool opened the scoring in the 13th minute after scoring a spectacular try on the back of a last tackle kick.
With an easy conversion attempt All Saints took an early 6-0 lead, even though Mittagong had shown some early signs of being the better team.
Mittagong let the flamboyant All Saints attack past their goal -line again in the 25th minute giving them a 12-0 lead before Mittagong showed spirit to claw the score back to 12-6 as Zac Blackshaw ploughed over the line five minutes before halftime.
Half time came and went and with it so did Mittagong’s chances of claiming their fifth win of the year.
