Lions disappointing in local derby

30 May, 2008 12:04 PM
Under-15A Mittagong coach Cameron Arlington said his team’s performance in a 28-8 loss to Moss Vale was “the most disappointing game I have seen them play in my four years at the club”.

The Lions’ third loss sees them drop to equal-third.

“The game started out fine but then we lost structure and couldn’t even do the simple things correctly,” Arlington said.

“Even when Dom Pringle put on of the biggest hits I’ve ever seen it couldn’t spur a comeback... lucky they didn’t beat us by 50.

“We badly missed Jake Mercieca in the halves but Adam Lidgard and Daniel Alvaro both scored. Our best were Lidgard, Alvaro and Rhys Scholes.”

Other junior Lions had better results with the under-13As notching their sixth straight win, 24-6 over Camden, to secure top spot.
